Leadership at St. Mary’s Menston

Letter to Parents and Carers

Dear Parent,

As you are probably aware, Mr Robert Pritchard left his role as Headteacher in April 2013 to work as a senior HMI for Ofsted. Mr Pritchard has informed governors of his intention to continue in this role. Miss Garrett and Mr Rothwell have been leading the school as acting Co-Headteachers since that time. They have done, and continue to do, an excellent job leading the school from strength to strength, ably supported by the senior management team and all the staff throughout our school. They have also, with the headteachers of our Trust Primary Schools, helped develop The Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust. We have every confidence that they will continue to do so.

The Governors and Directors, in conjunction with the Diocese, are considering the best model for the future leadership of both St. Mary’s and the wider Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust and will keep you informed of the process. We are in the fortunate position of having an excellent senior management team in the school and a talented group of headteachers throughout the Trust, so that we are confident that St. Mary’s and the other Trust schools will continue to work towards the aim of all of our schools providing a first class Catholic education.

Yours sincerely

R Lavery, Chair, of St. Mary’s Academy Council

C Hyde, Chair of The Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust
