The ten schools in The Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust participated in the Bishop’s annual Good Shepherd Service at St. Anne’s Cathedral on Friday 19 May 2017.

During Easter week there was an Egg decorating competition and an Easter Bonnet competition too.
Congratulations to Shelton Murape (Mathematics) and David Holmes (Physics) who have recently qualified under the School Direct Abridged route into teaching. They are the first students in the country to qualify as teachers on a Fast Track (August – April) route.
We had a wonderful afternoon on Friday 31 March when the whole school took part in a sponsored walk for the Good Shepherd appeal.
All of the money went to a charity called Water Aid, so children and adults who are not able to have clean healthy water will be able to.
On Thursday we had a talk from a lady called Sue, who worked for water aid. She told us that it takes £15 to give someone clean drinking water. With the money we have raised we have managed to give 213 people clean drinking water!
Each class went into the hall to do a range of activities linked to the stations of the cross.
Year 1 have been looking at new vocabulary in Maths. They now know if a number is greater than, smaller than, less than or more than another number.
Children at St. Stephen’s Catholic Primary School in Skipton are really excited as they can now enjoy their new outside area which includes a ‘Secret Garden with a hobbit hole’, sand pit, texture kitchen and natural climbing structure. This has only been made possible with help from the Big Lottery Fund that awarded the school £9,430 to develop the outdoor area.
Yesterday was the Feast day of St Joseph and today we celebrated this in our whole school Mass at church with Father Neil, parents and our parishioners.
On Friday 3 March 2017 our Year 4 pupils took part in the 'Kids in the Limelight' (Kids Aloud) concert at the Royal Hall in Harrogate.
Wensleydale are learning about Fairtrade and how it benefits Fairtrade workers and farmers. A visible demonstration of this is the 90kg rice challenge.
What a wonderful week. The children have enjoyed investigating our crime scene this week and learning lots about dinosaurs. They have produced some wonderful work which Parents and Carers will be invited to see later in the term.
