On Friday 5 April 2019, we had our whole school sponsored walk in aid of The Good Shepherd Appeal.
Year 1 had a lovely morning learning about toys. The children enjoyed the chance to handle old and new toys from the museum’s nationally important collection and to discover how children played in the past.
What a fantastic morning! The children really enjoyed reading ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ - and there were plenty of laughs in the process!

19 March 2019 was a very special day as we celebrated St Joseph's Day! We thought about the qualities of St Joseph; hardworking, loving, and strong.

Congratulations to all the 23 candidates from our Year 6 class (42 candidates in total) who received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

We ended our wonderful #DinosaurWeek with a fabulous Jurassic World Showcase. We showed a sample of classwork, put out our fantastic Jurassic World Display and held a wonderful Dinosaur competition.
Our Year 5 pupils had a super time at Robinwood in early February.
Year 4 have celebrated their class saint, #StBrigidsDay today. They looked at the history of St Brigid & learned many interesting facts.
Primary schools in our Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust are going to raise money for a sock appeal. Year 13 Students from St. Mary’s Menston who visited South Africa in June 2018 presented the assemblies.
Children show great teamwork during conservation project
This week Year 5 have used a range of sources of evidence to find out about life in Ancient Greece and also held a Greek pottery Workshop.
Year 6 kicked off Spring Term 1 with an exciting ‘Bridges’ project.
During Advent 2018 all of the children raised money for Mission Together, specifically their ‘Together in Jordan’ project which helps refugee children attend school and receive an education.
The School Council discusses and makes decisions on a range of issues, including playtime activities and the development of the school grounds. Pupils from Year 1 upwards are elected by their peers to become School Councillors. The Council have regular meetings with a member of staff.
There is no need to book for the sessions.

On Tuesday 27 November 2018, we had a special treat. Transdev have a new fleet of electric buses and one of them has been named after our school.

Well done to our Year 6 football team, who recently won a home game against Froebelian. It was a fantastic team effort from everyone and a great way to start off our league season.
