The schools in our Trust have all been celebrating Advent
A Christmas Prayer
Christ, my beloved Lord,
Heavenly host proclaim your birth
Rejoice and be glad they say
In a stable, in Bethlehem, the
Saviour of the world is born
To save and to redeem us
May we be grateful and never forget
All he has given and done for us
Son of the living God, Jesus Christ the Lord.
You can of course see more of our school's advent celebrations via their school websites, social media and newsletters.
St. Joseph's Harrogate
Well done to Year 3 for leading the whole school in our second week of Advent
Collective Worship, with the theme of ‘Peace’ in waiting for the coming of our Lord
St. Mary's Knaresborough
Year 5 decorated a tree for the Knaresborough Christmas Tree Festival. Years 4 and 5 went to see the festival and thoroughly enjoyed the trees they saw. A big thank you to those people who donated buns and cakes for the Mini Vinnies cake stall.
St. Mary's Horsforth
St Joseph's Otley
A huge thank you to Mrs Brylov and the catering team for producing a very tasty Christmas Dinner. We were joined by Father Lawrie and some of the other priests, who stayed for dinner following Reconciliation earlier in the morning. We loved wearing our Christmas jumpers and hats, and having a sing song to all our favourite Christmas hits. Well done St Joseph's!
Ss Peter and Paul Yeadon
Sacred Heart Ilkley
As Advent begins, and we prepare for the birth of Jesus, the children have made their Advent promises on beautifully decorated candles. All 200 candles are displayed around school, reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas.
St. Mary's Menston
As part of the St. Mary’s community advent celebrations, the school’s Dance Club took part in two dance performance for children at Menston Pre-School.
The advent appeal in support of our four school charities reached the £2,000 mark on Tuesday 12th December.
Christmas Carol Service: The Coming of our God
We were very pleased to see so many parents, families and friends of the school
at the Christmas Carol Service. Thank you to Fr Carlisle and all staff and
students who contributed to yesterday evening’s service, where students read,
sang and played to an exceptionally high standard. The Christmas service felt
French Exchange staff and students were also able to join us for this Christmas
celebration after their wintry visit to Whitby.
