Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust Mass September 2017

The celebration of holy Mass of Thanksgiving for The Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust on Thursday 21 September was indeed a most blessed occasion.

Staff and student representatives from all ten schools came together on the Feast of St Matthew at the Cathedral Church of St Anne. A communal choir and orchestra together with our cantor, readers, servers, offertory bearers and banner bearers joined with a joy filled congregation in prayerful worship. Fr John Carlisle, priest chaplain to St. Mary's, Menston gave the Homily reflecting on the Gospel reading which told us of how the Lord had looked at Matthew with a gaze of love, just as he looks on us now. Bishop Marcus, having received Pledges from all ten schools, urged us to go forward in Faith and the love of God to live virtuous lives. We were then joined by Bishop Marcus in Wheeler Hall for refreshments.

“This was a very proud day for each of the Trust schools as well as for Catholic Education and was a wonderful occasion.”
