St Mary’s Menston

Teacher of Religious Education - MPS/UPS

Permanent and full time

Required for September 2019.  The Governors of this outstanding, high achieving and oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy seek to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified graduate teacher to teach Religious Education.  An ability to teach KS5 would be advantageous.  NQTs and trainee teachers achieving QTS by July 2019 are welcome to apply. 

Religious Education is central to the life of the school and is taught across all key stages and ability ranges.  The Catholic ethos of the school is very important and is supported by all staff, feeder primary schools and local parishes. 

St. Mary’s is a popular and highly successful school situated on the North West fringe of Leeds, close to the Yorkshire Dales.  The school is part of the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust which consists of the high school and 9 primary schools.  The April 2014 Section 48 inspection and November 2014 Ofsted inspection judged St Mary’s as an outstanding school.  We became a Teaching School in October 2015 and a National Support School in September 2017.

School Site Supervisor - 3 Posts

Permanent, 37 hours per week all year round.  NJC Salary Scale B1 - B3, £17,391 - £20,541 per annum (salary dependant on experience)

Core hours of work are: 06:30 - 10:00 and 14:00 - 18:00 Monday to Thursday and 06:30 - 10:00 and 14:00 - 17:30 Fridays during term time.

The Governors of The Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust are looking to appoint 3 experienced Site Supervisors to join our team to ensure high standards of maintenance, cleanliness and safety are achieved throughout the buildings and grounds of our schools.

Although you will be based at one of the following schools, you will be part of a wider Trust premises team and will benefit from collaborative working within the Trust:

  • St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Pudsey

  • St. Mary’s Horsforth Catholic Voluntary Academy

  • Holy Name Catholic Voluntary Academy, Cookridge

Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Primary School, a Voluntary Academy

Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Support

Fixed Term for one year in the first instance but may be extended depending upon funding.

30 hours per week term time only.  NJC Salary Scale A1/B1 Point 10, £16,863 - £18,672 (Actual salary £11,344 - £12,561)

Hours of work are 8.30am until 11.30am then 12.00pm until 3.00pm

Required to start February 2019; the Governors are looking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stage 1.  You will have excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills; understand how individual children learn. You must be committed to high standards of attainment and behaviour and work effectively as part of a team including outside agencies.  You will be warm, friendly and empathetic and supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.  The successful candidate will be required to supervise pupils outside at lunchtimes.
